ROCKING RUSTY ROCKS!

Russell Rogers, AKA Rocking Rusty, performed twice on December 16, 2009, for Albertville Primary School students and staff. The “Rocking Rusty Jamboree” lyceum was engaging, funny, and educational. Rusty played his guitar and sang popular songs but with a hilarious twist. Rusty had students singing, dancing, and counting to rock and roll songs. Kids and teachers were laughing for much of the 30 minute presentation. The high energy performance included "London Bridge" and a great version of "10 Little Monkeys." This lyceum was both fantastic and engaging!

Rusty's Rocking Jamboree FINALLY has a video up on YouTube. It's SIX minutes of the song "Ten Little Monkeys." "Ten Little Monkeys" is like the "Freebird" of children's songs. It's endless ... at least it seams that way because I could only put 6 minutes of the song on YouTube and the video runs about 6:35. ARGH! I am experiencing technical difficulties. But now that I have some tiny clue about how to put video up on the Internet, hopefully there will be more in the near future!

The video can also be seen in side the MUSIC section of this site.

You can find it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN1EGZROaH0.
Teddy Bear Park will Rock Out with the Jamboree 5 Times this Summer!

"Hi Rusty,

In the next few days I am putting together a monthly flyer (May - August) to send to the newspapers, city websites, library etc...

Can you send me a FEW lines (2-3) regarding your shows - if there is anything in particular in May, I can advertise it now!

Thank you! I look forward to your show on the 10th!

Amy Gag"

That was an e-mail I got from the Program Coordinator for Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater, Minnesota. I'm very excited about Teddy Bear Park! It's a great, fun, park designed especially for kids. It also has enough funding to bring in entertainment several times PER WEEK during the Summer months!

Now, how do I boil down Rusty's Rocking Jamboree to just a few (2-3) lines? How do I boil down my excitement for Teddy Bear Park?

This was my response to Amy:

Rusty's Rocking Jamboree is a fun, interactive, kid-friendly show, that won't make parents want to puke. Not so sugary sweet, the show mixes upbeat familiar tunes with Rusty's own comic original songs. There is also plenty of off-beat fun tossed into the mix. Rusty's Rocking Jamboree: Bring your smiles, you're going to need them!

Rusty is playing 5 TIMES at Teddy Bear Park this Summer, including TWO TIMES in MAY! The Rocking Jamboree is the first show of Teddy Bear Park's Summer Concert season, Thursday, May 10 at 2 PM. AND Rusty is headlining Teddy Bear Park's Big Concert Kick Off Party at NOON on Saturday, May 12! Come see what all the hype is about!

Come see why Rush Limbaugh thinks Rusty is the most dangerous comedian since Al Franken! OK, as far as we know Rush has never even HEARD of Rusty's Show! But, it got you thinking, eh? check out www.rockingjamboree.com

Amy, is this too many lines?

Here is the same thing boiled down to fewer lines:

FIVE times this Summer at Teddy Bear Park! TWO times in May!

Rusty's Rocking Jamboree is a fun, interactive, musical show that appeals to both kids and adults. Not so sugary sweet, the show mixes upbeat tunes with offbeat fun.
New Rocking Jamboree Business Cards and Logo

The other day I decided to order new business cards. The old cards didn't have my logo on them and they didn't show the address for this web site.

So I ordered 2000 cards with the logo on the front and my picture on the back. And I was happy.

Until I looked at the logo and started nit-picking: "Couldn't this line be just a little smoother? Shouldn't this part be just a TITCH bigger? Shouldn't the exclamation point pop just a bit more?"

I spent hours and hours refining the logo. So now I have 2000 business cards about to show up in the mail with an out of date logo on them!

So if you would like one of my new business cards, if you would like a WHOLE STACK of my new business cards to share with all your friends and neighbors, drop me a line and I'll send them to you.

Pinewood Elementary

Today I played a show at Pinewood Elementary in Moundsview, MN. The Gym was hot, even before the 400 kids got there, so I was REALLY sweating by the end of the show.

But we had a GREAT time! The kids were SO responsive! The kids at Pinewood were both enthusiastic participants and a very well behaved group too. This is a tough balancing act to pull off sometimes, especially for elementary aged kids. This speaks highly of both the kids there, but also their teachers and parents too.

It felt very nice to be invited back for Pinewood's end of the year concert for the second year in a row.

I played some classic songs from the show like "Ten Little Monkeys" and "London Bridge."

"The Car-Car Song". a newer number, involves a lot of audience participation. This is working out to be a very fun song with many kids streching their hands in the air wanting to add their input on the song.

I hope The Rocking Jamboree becomes an annual event at Pinewood Elementary.

Working up a sweat with the kids at Pinewood -- Photo by Julie Pidde

There are other cool photos on the photos page.
